Digital Nomads (International Teleworkers)
Non-EU foreign nationals may apply for residence for international teleworking
in order to carry out a remote work or professional activity for companies located
outside the national territory, through the exclusive use of computer, telematic and
telecommunication means and systems.
REQUIREMENTS
Accreditation of being graduates or postgraduates from universities of
recognized prestige, professional training and business schools of
recognized prestige or with a minimum of three years’ professional
experience.
Existence of real and continuous activity on the part of the company with
which the applicant contracts.
Documentation accrediting that the work or professional relationship can
be carried out remotely.
Proof that the employment or professional relationship between the
applicant and the worker has existed for at least three months, as well
as documents accrediting the terms and conditions of the remote
activity.
TYPES OF PERMITS AND DURATION
Visa: when the applicant is outside Spain, he/she will obtain a permit to
reside and work throughout the national territory, if he/she so wishes.
The duration of the permit is 1 year, unless the period of work is shorter,
in which case the visa will have the same duration. After the year has
elapsed, a residence permit must be applied for.
Residence authorization: when the applicant is legally in Spain, he/she
will obtain a 3-year permit to reside and work throughout the national
territory, if he/she so wishes.

Visa: At Diplomatic Missions and Consular Posts. Embassies and
Consulates.
Residence authorization: at the Large Companies and Strategic
Collectives Unit.
